Project Life…..

Morning Dear Reader, hope you are well? I am so ready for spring now, i am tried of being cold and i would really like to sit out on my bench and read my book without freezing!

But the gloomy weather is giving me the opportunity to catch up on my scrapbooking.  I am a convert to the Project Life way of scrapbooking, although i don’t do the 365day a year business because i just don’t want to commit to that as it would put too much pressure on myself.

So i tend to scrap events, and do a month spread for each of the children's books.

Here is a layout that i have done of a visit to Kew Gardens

{i have used the everyday adventure kit from Stamping’ Up!}

I am liking the PL way as i can get layouts done quickly with as little or as many embellishments as i like.

Until next time

WOYWW? February 25th 2015

Good Morning Dear Reader; i hope this wet and rainy morning finds you well?
Whats on my workdesk…….well…..a lot of mess!!
2015-02-25 08.05.04
And it will probably only get tidy today as my eldest is in bed feeling poorly, and my youngest is in tears as this will be the first time she has had to go to ‘big’ school without her big sister :( so she is feeling a bit lost without her.
I hope to get round to as many desks as possible between dvds ;) any excuse to watch the old Disney films.
Until next time

New Stash!!

Morning Dear Reader, i thought today i would share with you the bits and pieces that i have brought over January.  January was a good month for stash buying as i was lucky to have some Christmas money.

So starting at the top i brought some Spectrum Noir Pencils and some blending fluid on the recommendation of my friend Jeanne so that i could colour and blend with paper stumps.
Some Lawn Fawn Elephant stamps; some bits from when Mr. C and i went out on his birthday – some pencils from Blott that were in the sale for 10p! a couple of postcards including a Charles Darwin one by Quentin Blake and some bull dog clips from Tiger. Some Jelly Bean Alphabet stickers and the Becky Higgins Playful core kit from Hey Little Magpie, i had brought a sample of playful from them before and loved it so much that i brought the full kit.  Its a very happy, colourful kit and it works well with how i want our albums to feel.

Lots of Lawn Fawn stamp sets with their matching dies, and some must have basics from Stampin’ Up! as i wanted to have extras of some must have tools so that i could have them in my scrap bag as well as on my desk; a new pair of snips, a pokey tool, a bone, and a few clear blocks as well as some white cardstock and my favourite crumb cake card stock.

So i am off to play ;) i have resolved to only buy bits if i am going to use it, and not to but more stamps until the ones i have have been shown some ink and love.  and…..so far I've stuck to it :)

Build Update {Walls and Ceiling}

Hello Dear Reader, i thought i would stop by and give you a quick update on how the craft room build is progressing.
As it stands today there are only 2 structural/main jobs to complete, the floor and the plumbing.
Mr.C finished the walls, ceiling and electrics this week.
Luckily there wasn’t too much in  the way of electrics only moving the light fixture and putting a strip light up so that i have the best light no matter what the day’s weather is like.
2015-01-24 09.15.152015-01-24 09.48.212015-01-25 11.46.18
The walls are painted a greige colour {neither beige nor grey} the ceiling is tongue and groove which has been painted with white eggshell.  The other wood within the room is white gloss.
You would not believe the difference that painting the ceiling white made on the light in the room, it bounces so much back from the strip light so at least i will have no problems colour-matching in there :)
Next weekend will be taken up with Mr. C laying the flooring down ready for the carpet fitter {my Dad} to come and measure up the following week.
I am unsure at the moment which flooring to have i like the idea of having nice warm carpet but vinyl will be much easier to clean.  Which would you choose?
Until next time

{review} We R Memory Keepers Scrap tote.

Hello Dear Reader i hope that you are well. It is absolutely throwing it down with rain today so i thought that today was a good day to ‘bank’ some blog posts, i will schedule these to post over the next few weeks; to share with you what i have been up to lately.

At Christmas my lovely friend brought me a We R Memory Keepers Scrap Tote, it was ordered from the States through Amazon and took a very long time to get to her so much so that she was worried that it wouldn’t arrive in time for Christmas!  It arrived 3 days before, but it was definitely cutting it fine.

You can get this tote in other colour-ways but i LOVE grey so it had to be the grey one for me.

It has lots of pockets and i am often amazed but just how much i have managed to fit into it.  Now i had a particular plan for my bag i wanted it as my Project Life bag, and it is perfect for that as it can hold just so much.

If i go to crops this and my trimmer is all i take with me now which is fantastic as i am the biggest over-packer you have ever met otherwise.

The front pocket has all my essentials; journaling pens, adhesives, lip balms etc. And there is room in the bag for a few of SU!’s wood mount cases which i use for storage of photos ready to be scrapped.

I use these pockets for all my embellishments, and there is a removable accordion file for papers stickers etc.

This is how i store my PL cards; i keep them in page protectors and on book rings so that i can flick through them when i am working on a layout.  I find this is the easiest way for me, with a core kit i keep 2-3 of each card in the protectors and then the rest in the box to refill later.

2015-01-21 13.29.452015-01-21 13.31.48

The back of the back has a pocket that i use to pop my trimmer into, but it is dual purpose as the bottom of it unzips and you can put your bag on to the handle of the matching rolling tote {which i don’t own, as i doubt i would use it} for when you go to crops etc or it you dont have a dedicated craft space.

I am very impressed with my tote as it does exactly what i want it to do, and it feels very well made.  For me it is very helpful that all my PL stuff is in one bag as when i am feeling unwell my hubby can grab me the bag and my trimmer and i can sit in bed and happily get some layouts started.  It also means that i take less with me to crops which means i am not carrying so much and that i am actually achieving something when i am there- bonus!

I hope that this review was interesting and helpful if you had considered one of these bags, i have not been asked to write this or compensated in any way it is my own opinion on a purchase that i have made that i thought may help others.

I have to say this was my favourite Christmas present this year :)

Until next time
