Welcome to my craft room. Grab a cuppa and take a look around.

WOYWW? April 29th 2015

Helloo there Dear Reader and Fellow Deskers, i hope that you are well? I am shocked at how quickly the year is passing i mean this is the last woyww of April already?! How did that happen??!! So this post is a little picture heavy {sorry Julia} but it is all relevant promise!

I have a bone to pick with my fellow deskers……you jinxed me!! So many people said they couldn't have an open pot of sequins cos they would end up knocking it flying……well guess what i did Monday?

2015-04-23 07.57.35

Luckily i had not long finished tidying up so it didn't take long for me to scoop it back in, and i shall be looking for a nice jar lol!  But what a pretty mess Smile

I was asked what a sum tsum is, its a Disney collection toy they’re about £3 each and they stack on top of each other and their bellies are screen cleaners. You can find them at the Disney Store here’s mine;

2015-04-23 07.59.372015-04-23 08.00.11

{here he is in relation to a tombow glue so you can see the size}

I was also asked for a window view, so i took this on a day that it wasn't too sunny so that i could actually get the picture rather than a frame of dark!

2015-04-23 08.00.492015-04-23 08.01.19

{here is one through the net curtain, and without some camera/net juggling to grab that!}

You can see part of the garden from my window, the swing set, veg patch and just below my window is a window box full of roses that my hubby planted just for me.

SO shall i show you my desk now? Smile

2015-04-27 08.35.31

Another different angle, i haven’t been feeling well this week so i haven’t done any crafting at all apart from knocking the pot a sequins over that’s the most action my room has seen since Friday!

So in this corner of my desk you can see my A4 cardstock in pretty magazine files i found at sainsbury’s of all places. My A4 cardstock is in A4 grip seal bags by the colour and i put my scraps in punched pockets usually one for general scraps then one for the scraps from designing a class so that if i need a piece i can just grab that class pocket, once the class is designed and prepped they go into the usual scraps pockets. I also have my notebooks that i use all the time for ideas, notes etc and my scentsy wax warmer, a portable dvd player, Gilmore Girls dvds and the box of smelly tissues have been re-homed here. There is also a bunny on the lamp base that is usually next to my bed but my youngest decided that i might get lonely when they were at school so bunny should sit on my desk so that i wasn’t lonely anymore! Smile

Talking of the littlest miss; yesterday morning i couldn’t find her anywhere and was just at the point of panic when i came across her…..

2015-04-27 08.19.37

Sitting under my desk like a little pixie!

Last photo i promise {sorry Julia!} this is how i spent my Tuesday afternoon

2015-04-28 13.07.48

Kind of crafting watching some YouTube videos and eating pizza; watching others craft counts right? That’s it from me today.
Until next time

Baby Book….

Good morning Dear Reader; i hope that you are well? Are you having some sunshine where you are? We are having a little more sunshine which i lovely; i cant wait until it is a little warmer and i can sit out on the bench and read a book.
So the project i am sharing with you today is a baby book that i put together for a family member that is due to have a baby very soon, i did it in the project life style as the person who is receiving it is not a crafter or a fussy person so the ability to pop bits in an out of pockets simply was what was needed.

{supplies from Stampin Up!}

As you can see i have left lots of spaces for photos and little notes and memories.  I really only used the bits that came in the kit from SU.

This is half of the book; i will share the other half with you in my next post.

Until next time

Friday, 24 April 2015

Hello Dear Reader, thank goodness its Friday! This week has seemed really long for no particular reason and i am looking forward to the weekend i have plans to pop to my friends for an hour or two for some crafting on Saturday and a nice lazy Sunday.

So today i am sharing a card with you that i made a few weeks ago i thought that it would be suitable for a man as well as a woman.

2015-03-09 12.33.56

{all supplies for this card from SU}

Fairly simple card using the stamp set to make a background  then a strip with the focal point.  I made the balloons with a small circle punch and the strings were hand drawn with a pencil.

Well that’s it from me today, i hope that you liked my card

Until next time

WOYWW? April 22nd 2015

Happy Wednesday Dear Reader and fellow Deskers I hope that you are all well?  I must say i am loving these lovely sunny days that we are having at the moment, its so nice to see the sun.

So here is my desk on Tuesday afternoon; the only thing that has changed this morning is that i have started to tidy it up, since being in the new craft room i have been making myself tidy up before starting a new project, and for the most part its working …mostly! lol

2015-04-20 16.46.34

{full view from the door way}

2015-04-20 16.46.45

{one close up taken standing on tippy toes}

Big shot, dies, Gilmore Girls Dvd’s, some bits of card stock prepped for a class, my eeyore tsum tsum, laptop {or better known as distraction device!}

2015-04-20 16.46.56

{even closer look}
Under the orange card stock is a card sample for my next class, the Elsa picture was from when i was colouring with my girls over the weekend i need to finish her sleeves i was teaching my eldest how to make shadows and how you add different tones, all with Crayola pencils {quite impressed as only children's art supplies} box of smelly menthol tissues {my fave}, ideas not book {covered by meSmile} big pot a sequins, lots of left over patterned paper. and my to do list.

Cor a lot going on really in that picture! I shall be finishing tidying up today in between desk hopping, so that i can start planning and prepping my next card.

That's it from me today, thank you for all who visit my blog and comment i really love reading them and appreciate the time you took to comment.

Until next time

New Stash!! {Winner of Giveaway Announced!}

Afternoon Dear Reader; a lovely sunny day it is too a little late from me today as i though that i had scheduled a post for today but they had actually run out on Monday last week so i missed Friday too, Opps! I didn't check the blog on Friday as i took a day off with my hubby, and we had no tech for the whole day just did nothing important caught up on recorded TV and basically vegged out! It was lovely!
Today i thought that i would share with you my recent stash purchases well i say recent they go back as far as march.

First up was what i brought at Stamperama;
2015-03-01 12.56.44

Lots of Lawn Fawn!…. Bugs and Kisses, Stitched Hills, Stitched Circles, Baked with Love, Whale you be Mine?, and Happy Everything!..and they’re matching dies of course!

Not sure about Stamperama; i was a bit disappointed there was not a lot of stands, possibly due to clashing with another show, i will give them another go if i am around but i think shows like this may have had their day for me; which is a shame as i love going to them and coming home with a huge haul.  But it was the sheer choice that i loved, i am considering Ally Pally in Sept though.

Next up was an order from Sprinkle-Twinkle

2015-04-15 19.15.36

More Lawn Fawn Stamps and Dies; a block, some 6x6 paper packs and sequins al from LF
And a couple of memento inks.  I ordered this over the phone as their website is fab but they have oodles more in the store so i just called up and asked for what i was after.

Nice quick delivery Smile great service.

I also got a couple new Spectrum Noir pencil tins

2015-03-0322015-04-04 12.14.19

I got these from Amazon as they had the best price at the time Smile

And Finally i got another of the We R Memory Keepers Totes….. I needed another one…..no really i did! lol My grey one is full of my project life bits so if i was to go to crop and i didn’t want to scrap i needed something to carry my stash in right?!  Lol the ways we justify our purchases Winking smile

2015-04-17 19.32.30

This is just like my grey one inside but unfortunately i chose to buy this from Oyster Stamps and the experience left a lot to be desired.
This is the review that i left on their Facebook page after my dealings with them;

Wouldn't recommend the service at all customer service is severely lacking; ordered on Sunday paid extra for 1st class hoping that it would be with me by Wednesday, still showing as processing on the Tuesday; when i phoned Tuesday to ask if they knew when it would be shipping was told {rudely} that it was a processing time of 7days!!
Item shipped Wednesday and has just arrived - great 2 days later than i needed it but at least it was here.
BUT they're was a price ticket on the bag for £21 when i paid £24.99!!
I called and asked if this was correct and told basically tough as they have a new member of staff so she must have marked it up with the wrong price. Less than believable at best, i would hazard that it is pure fabrication, I would also say that the packaging left a lot to be desired it was packed in one layer of brown paper no internal bag on the tote bag to protect it.

There are also marks on the front of the bag but i can over look them as i doubt i would ever get anywhere with a replacement from this company

I am not an awkward customer  i will always give a good review as well as a bad one if needed but i do think that good manners and great customer service cost nothing.  I am from a retail background so i know how a customer should be treated; but i also know how being told you gave great service is just as good for the business as giving bad feedback

Well that’s my shopping for now, cant wait to start using it and sharing the projects with you all.

Now for my giveaway that ended on Friday, thank you to all who entered.  I popped all the names in a hat and got Mr.C to pull one out…..

drumroll please……..the winner is……..(dramatic TV show pause)

**Louise Simms!**

Well that’s it from me today
Until next time

WOYWW? March 14th 2015

Good Morning Dear Reader and Fellow Deskers, i do hope that you are well and have been enjoying sunny weather also. It has been so lovely to see the sun, enjoy its warmth and the girls playing in the back garden.
Here’s my desk for today;
2015-04-14 15.35.08
On my desk are so WIPs cards that i must get round to finishing i even used some of the shrink plastic bits from last week. It seems to take me a week or so between me colouring and the bits becoming a thing! 2 phones as always, packet of crisps for sustenance of course.  All sorts of odds and ends my basket of Lawn Fawn stamps and matching dies {quickly becoming my favourites}
No Pj’s for me today as girls are back to school, and i shall be spending the day with my Grandparents, but i have a Pj day planned for Sunday Smile I will be desk hopping until they arrive and then shall finish off in the evening.

So that’s it from me for now
Until next time

Whale you be mine?

Hello Dear Reader; i hope that this finds you well. Today is the first day back after the Easter holidays and boy am i looking forward to it! lol Don’t get me wrong i love my girls but they wear me out! It’s been lots of playing mummies and babies {me as the baby} Lego, drawing and cooking, i am looking forward to do nothing at all today and watching some non children’s tv!

The project i am sharing with you today is a circle card, just for a change. I made this version and a ‘stepped up’ version for when you have more time {i shall share that card next time}

2015-04-03 10.12.05

{stamps Lawn Fawn, dies Lawn Fawn}

2015-04-03 10.12.24  As you can see a very simple card, I cut the card base with some circle dies i have.  The mount is using the stitched circles from Lawn Fawn.
I coloured the whales with spectrum noir pencils and blended them using stumps and fluid.
Once i had die cut them using the matching die i glossed them with glossed accents and some stickles on to the bits coming out of their blow holes.  I created the curved sentiment buy using a larger block and gently bending the stamp to the shape i wanted.

A very simple card and quick to put together.

That’s it from me today i hope that you liked the card

Until Next time

Build Update {it’s Finished!!}

Hello Dear Reader, i hope that this post finds you well.  Well as some of you may have realised my craft room has been finished for a few weeks now; as i have been working in there and it has been the work desk that i have been sharing for woyww for quite a few weeks now.
So i thought i best finish up my series of build update posts with the last photo before i show you my room tour in the next few weeks.

2015-03-03 20.14.42

So really the last thing to go up was the shelves, these shelves have been in every home we have lived in since 2007 and have always stored my craft stuff, its nice to have them out in my new craft room too to continue the tradition.

So from here on its a case of filling the shelves; which i have done and moved them around a few times already and working in the space to see what needs tweaking.
Now i could have had everything finished for when i moved in but i wasn't sure what extras i would need, like for the kallax cubes a lot of people recommended the fabric box drawers but i think for me i would find the drawer inserts more useful so when i next get around to going to Ikea that's what i will get.  Plus i think it is much better when a space evolves organically so that it is your space and really fits you.

So that’s it from me for today; i will be back very soon with a room tour and the before and after photos.
Until then

WOYWW? April 7th 2015

Good Morning Dear Readers and Fellow WOYWW Deskers, i hope that you are all well? Lovely sunny day yesterday made such a change from all the dark clouds of last week, of course Mr C is back at work now that the sun has deigned to make an appearance, typical!
Ah well its a duvet day for us today probably our last one of the Easter holidays as we have visitors tomorrow and Saturday, so lovely clean comfy pj’s and I'm done today girls are watching DVD’s and I'm going to desk hop – bliss! Smile

So here’s my desk today {well Tuesday evening – 6.30pm look at all that light!! love my craft room!!} i hope to have this mess tidied up so that i can start using the bits that i had played with over the weekend

2015-04-04 12.26.02

We had a child free night and few days as the girls went for a sleep over with my grandparents; so we had a quick sort out of the little pressie stockpile that i have been gathering again since January – nothing over the top just as i see something the girls would like or on sale i get it and squirrel it away meaning on less job on  the to do list come Christmas Smile And while i was doing that i came across some shrink plastic! I can’t remember the last time i used shrink plastic so i had to scurry down to the craft room and start stamping straight away.  I love playing with shrink plastic its one of those things i loved as a child and i love now that i can still use it in my crafts.

So that's what is happening on the grid paper, i have a tile there to heat them on and have popped other blocks to stop them from running away from the heat gun! lol The missing tin of pencils arrived finally on Saturday not had time to use them yet, this is a set of blues and browns based on ocean colours.  A basket of Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, my Eeyore Tsum Tsum that the girls brought me, my ladybug pencil sharpener, and the essentials; big bottle of ice cold water, it burns calories you know cos the body has to heat it up Winking smile and means that i can justify my other essential Waitrose strawberry laces both the fizzy and non fizzy type Smile yup I've not grown up! lol

O we did get to Cinderella last week, and it is a beautiful film costumes are to die - for the wedding dress, oh if they release that they will make a killing as every bride would love to wear it. It was a great version of the tale i would recommend it we already have it on pre-order for when it comes out on blu-ray and we have the dress up costumes as of about 30mins after we saw it the girls got Daddy to buy them for them! lol {soft touch Winking smile}

Well that's it from me today, don’t forget to enter my giveaway i will post to anywhere in the UK or Europe you can enter here

I will try and get round all the desks again this week i managed last week to visit them all even if i couldn't comment on them all i always have a look.
Until next time

WOYWW? April 1st 2015

Good Morning Dear Reader, Happy April Fools, no jokes from me today, but seriously how fast is this year motoring along!?

As its Wednesday it means its time for a snoop about the desks of crafters worldwide in the weekly friendly blog hop hosted by Julia pop over and see her if you would like the details.

So lets share my desk, taken as usual on Tuesday evening and actually for a change i have been up to some crafting on it! I have been suffering lately with Fibro fog and being uncomfortable lately in my legs so sitting and colouring has been good as its enjoyable and doesn’t take much energy or brain power and that was what i was doing yesterday whilst Mr.C watched football.

2015-03-31 20.11.33

All the essentials on my desk as you can see; DVD player with the Gilmore Girls on to keep me company { I've seen each episode so many times i don’t need to pay attention it just washes over me and is comforting in a way} Another set of Lawn Fawn stamps peeking in the corner next to a new set of Spectrum Noir pencils that Mr.C ordered me as an Easter egg.  We got them from Amazon there should have been 2 packs but although purchased on the same day only one set has turned up thus far – go figure!  I am using a mineral blending fluid to blend away the pencil marks.  It was an enjoyable way to spend half an hour or so and i now have some images ready and coloured for when i feel like making some cards.

2015-03-31 20.59.18

{Lawn Fawn – ‘Bugs and Kisses’ coloured with Spectrum Noir Pencils}

We are hoping to treat the girls to a trip to the Cinema today to see Cinderella {and the Frozen short! *smiles*} IF the weather is kind to us and our fence stays up! We have had so much strong wind over the last day that we may have to postpone the cinema for a day in order for Mr.C to fix the fence ….. so cross your fingers for us.

I will try and get round to as many desks as i possibly can tomorrow

That’s it from me today

Until next time
